Back to School Health Fair

Join the Gaston County Carolina Club in volunteering at the annual Back to School Health Fair! Sign up to serve food, hand out backpacks, enter data, and more! This year the health fair has a new name, “Splash into Wellness” and a new location. It will beheld at the Gaston County Health Department on 991 West Hudson Blvd from 8am-3pm on August 24^th, 2019.  Please see attached flyers in both English and Spanish for more details.

This event is run by DHHS and aims to make sure children start their school year with everything they need to have a successful year.  This includes school supplies and backpacks as well as immunizations, screenings, and information about their current health.  Many low-income children do not receive regular health screenings, so this event gives them an opportunity to receive those screenings at no charge.  Additionally, parents/guardians receive information and education about their children’s health so that know steps to take to provide them appropriate care.
